Google has announced that it will phase out the Chrome apps on all platforms except for Chrome OS. The announcement is available here . It appears that sometime in 2018, the support will be removed.
The current Vision Teacher application is a Chrome app. This means that when Google removes support for Chrome apps in other operating systems, the Vision Teacher app will not work in a Windows environment. Therefore, we have created a replacement of the app for the users who use Windows. We will continue to support the existing Teacher app, but Google will stop making it available in Windows at some point in the future.
Therefore we strongly recommend that Windows users move to the new Vision Teacher app for Windows.
On your Windows machine download and install the application from the links below (System requirements are available here):
Once installed, launch the Vision Teacher for Chromebooks application and login using your regular GSFE userid. The experience is similar to the Chrome app. All of your classes and filter lists will be available through the new app.
Remember that the Vision Teacher app you just downloaded is now listed with your other Windows apps; you may want to pin it to the task bar - find instructions here.
You may also want to de-install the Vision Teacher app that is in the Chrome browser, to prevent any confusion.
